Om afroart. Afroart grundades 1967 och har sedan starten presenterat hantverk och folkkonst från länder i Afrika, Africa Remix is an exhibition of contemporary art from Africa. It comprises around a hundred works by 86 artists, and is being shown on two floors of Moderna Museet. The artists come from 25 African countries and several of them also live and work in Europe or the USA. The Swedish Arts Council has launched a new programme to strengthen artistic freedom globally during a three-year period (2021-2023). The programme is realised through financial support from Sida, the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency, and aims to improve conditions for artists to create, display and distribute their work without being exposed to threats or harassments.
